De forurenende stoffer er skadelige for medarbejdernes helbred samt for de anvendte maskiner og kvaliteten af deres produkter.  Kompakte elektrofiltre kan bruges til at udtr\u00e6kke og adskille emulsionst\u00e5gen direkte ved maskinen. De elektrostatiske udskillere ioniserer de fineste v\u00e6skedr\u00e5ber, s\u00e5 de kan samles p\u00e5 opsamleren og dryppe af. Sammenlignet med mekaniske olieudskillere giver elektrostatiske udskillere betydelige fordele med hensyn til vedligeholdelse og energiomkostninger. Men under systemets drift dannes der fedtede aflejringer p\u00e5 udskillernes overflader, som reducerer udskillelsesydelsen og derfor skal reng\u00f8res mindst hver sjette m\u00e5ned. Konventionelle reng\u00f8ringsmetoder som b\u00f8rster eller h\u00f8jtryksrensere er uegnede til denne reng\u00f8ringsopgave, fordi de komprimerer det fine net i for- og efterfiltrene, og de smalle mellemrum mellem kollektorerne kan ikke n\u00e5s med b\u00f8rster. Reng\u00f8ring i et ultralydsbad er derimod sk\u00e5nsomt og intensivt, selv for komplekse komponenter. Ultralyd bruges til at generere ekstremt fine kavitationsbobler, som fjerner aflejringer fra f\u00f8lsomme og sv\u00e6rt tilg\u00e6ngelige omr\u00e5der p\u00e5 en tidsbesparende m\u00e5de. Et tilsat reng\u00f8ringsoverfladeaktivt middel reducerer vandets overfladesp\u00e6nding og giver optimale reng\u00f8ringsresultater. I de fleste produktionsanl\u00e6g til drejede og fr\u00e6sede dele bruges der allerede ultralydsbade til at reng\u00f8re de forarbejdede produkter.
