Information on the use of enzyme-containing cleaners in the ultrasonic bath #
The mode of action of enzyme-containing cleaners is based on the destruction of proteins. This process requires relatively long times depending on the temperature, which can be up to 12 hours depending on the degree of soiling. Ultrasonic action does not significantly shorten this time factor.
Temperatures >45 °C inactivate the enzymes (do not use heating).
Nevertheless, cleaners containing enzymes can be used in the ultrasonic bath if they are intended for this purpose. In this case, the manufacturer's instructions must be strictly observed.
After wet deposition in a disinfectant, the instruments must be rinsed very carefully, as even traces of the disinfectant inactivate the enzymes and prevent cleaning.
The bath must be renewed regularly (follow manufacturer's instructions).
